What is a Pre-approved vehicle?

Pre-approved means the vehicle is a second hand vehicle that has been taken on by our dealership, surveyed and checked by our mechanics.

Do I need a Personal Seal or is my Registered Signature alright?

A Personal seal is often asked for in Japan and we would recommend you getting one because it is very convenient. Although, we will accept a Registered Signature document from your Embassy for any of our major transactions.

Is my International License alright as identity?

When in Japan your international license is recognized for registering and purchasing a vehicle. Although, this may not be the case when shipping your vehicle to your home country. Please consult with your local Road and Traffic Authority. (Example - Australia Residents returning to NSW will need to apply for a customer number)  

When should I apply for my Import Permit?

Beware! When you have decided you will be taking your vehicle home with you it is recommended that you apply as early as possible (providing you have been in Japan for the specified period of time). When shipping a vehicle each country has different rules and regulations you must follow and applications take time. We would prefer to not ship your vehicle home without a pre-approved permission to do so. Otherwise it may be held in customs and become very costly.

Can you get me a car for less than 1 million Japanese yen, with shaken and English Navigation?

Yes, we can get you a car! Although it will be fairly old, with very high kilometers and in rough condition not to mention it would keep me awake at night.

In Japan the automotive market is a huge industry, one of the largest in the world. Most of their vehicles are eventually sent for export. Because of this industry the law is built around it. If you purchase a car that is 10 years old it tends to become more expensive than you had first anticipated. Accompanying the possible automotive issues you may have the shaken or vehicle registration is now every year instead of the original 3 year system on a new car. This averages around 100,000 JPY a year depending on the car and becomes a bit of a hassle. As for the English Navigation it is fairly expensive and starts around 1/4 of the price of your budget thus limiting your search even more.

Let’s fast forward to when you decide to move to a different country or purchase a new vehicle and want to trade it in. You have purchased a car you can’t get rid of! It is now older, a few more kilometers and not a very desirable car. It’s a lot more difficult to get rid of and you will get plenty of headaches ultimately turning out unhappy about it.

Yes! If needed we can assist you in shipping your car home or we offer a “buy-back” service for all of our customers. If something should come up and you need to leave we will assist you with your car. Contact us for more details.

Do you help me with service should I need it?

If you do decide to purchase a vehicle from us we charge a 100,000 JPY basic fee for all translation you may need for the registration on your vehicle. This is extended with your stay in Japan should you require our services for the installation of English Navi at a later date or maybe new wheels.
